In the third month of the year 2006 AD, Matt (a.k.a. shmatt) departed the lands that he had called home for the prior 30 years, set sail across the stormy sea to distant, unknown lands on an epic missionary journey.. The next day his family flew to Melbourne to join him.
hey man i came across your page and wanted to tell you its kool, i also go to Christian Outreach Centre - at warringah,(Sydney) good job on the site though mate
I was really bothered by your posting at theooze.com in response to my note on your article JESUS LOVES OSAMA (?)
I read this article as though you could be one of those visible and loud “christians”. The kind that might hold up a sign in a funeral that reads “Jesus Hates Gays” (side note… I’m not gay). But your response is what bothered me. Your note was a mirror, it correctly revealed me to be what you apologized for seeming to be.
What really bothers me is that I’m the person scared and holding a sign against the Church in every defense I think it needs.
I read through your site… I’m in support of your writing.
It was few months ago that I read about the “Jesus Loves Osama” sign. Personally I have been hating two people in my life… Ironically they are a pastor and his wife. I have prayed (fairly consistently) every day for God to help me not to hate these two people. I’ve only progressed to be able to pray that God will help not to want to hate them…. LOL… I’m tired of hating them, but it was the sign in that Australian Church which Christ spoke through.
I wrote back to you in defense, my writings were calculated… only after my post did I read you’re over your site.
My point here is to let you know that I’m aware of how small His Church really is… My response was aimed to shame you. My goal has never been to shame anyone in the Church yet here I am writing to you as an apology for speaking loudly.
You and I share a similar goal in revealing who He really is. We don’t need marketing tactics; we don’t need carefully articulated and strategic plans. Yet, I used these tactics and tried to make a personal point while writing to you that you offended me.
I just wanted to say that I really appreciated your note… More than you know…
