Lunch at Nandos - the first for us both, and possibly the last. A couple of hours with daddy at work. The Pancake Parlour and some French crepe that looked great on the menu but that in the end was hard to imagine was any more than minced-beef stew on an overcooked pancake. An alright-I-suppose girly flick called ‘Take the lead’ with Antonio Banderas (better known as puss-in-boots in these parts) finished by a two dollar trip on the merry go round.
It was fun while it lasted for me. I’ll probably have mostly forgotten it in a few weeks. I guess Elly probably will have too, but I hope that in many years to come, she will have one of those moments when a glimpse of your childhood comes vaguely to mind, and she will recall the night that daddy carried her laughing all the way from the merry-go-round to the car in the rain, both laughing all the way.

I wouldn’t say that I’m a perfectionist. Far from it, really. But I do love to be original. I feel like a fraud if I present anything that did not originate from my own head. This is one of my great downfalls, because it means that I fail to complete so many things.
In this automated world of ‘instants’, wizards and templates, where a child can set up an entire myspace web site in minutes; months, years and more often than not an eternity can go my before I see the actualization of many of my ideas because of my nasty affinity with wanting to start from scratch.
This site is a testimony to how someone can change. It was set up in hours (still, a tad long) and uses (agad!) a template downloaded directly from WordPress - which is what the site is built using. The only thing that have customised thus far is the picture of me in the header.
Maybe I’ll change things over time. Perhaps by the time you are reading this post, the site will look completely different than it does now as I write this first post. But for now, I have learned the first vital lesson in priorities, because you are reading this. I am sure that had I done things the usual way, then you wouldn’t be.
